The Grand Rapids Public Schools Nutrition Services Department will provide USDA funded summer meals in locations throughout the city.

Free summer meals will be provided for children 18 and under at more than 20 sites throughout Grand Rapids. The meals begin June 11 and are funded through the US Department of Agriculture’s “Meet Up and Eat Up” program. No registration is required; children simply show up to any of the sites and enjoy a tasty, free, and nutritious meal. All sites offer lunch and either breakfast or a snack. A complete list of sites is available online at www.grps.org/nutrition.

“We know that hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation, so the summer meal program is critical for many families. Meet Up and Eat Up summer meals are easy to access and can help families stretch their grocery budget a little farther” said Superintendent Teresa Weatherall Neal.
