Ottawa Hills Grad Wins State Meet, Signs with Western

Aniya broke a 39 year old OHHS shot-put record by throwing 40’10.5” throw at the state meet. As a junior, she also broke a 17 year old discus throwing record, with a throw of 130’4”, and has since broke her own record two times during her senior year, with a final throw of 139’9”.

In addition to her track career at OHHS, Aniya also was a 3-year varsity player on the volleyball and basketball teams. She was named Reynolds & Sons Athlete of the Month in 2016, Fox Motors Athlete of the Month, and Max Prep Player of the Game (7 times).

Aniya is also an exemplary student in the classroom, earning Honor Roll and Dean’s List awards during her time at Ottawa Hills.

Aniya is the daughter of LaTonya O’Neal and Luther Davis, Jr. She recently accepted a scholarship to continue her education and track career at Western Michigan University.
